Take it one day at a time, and when you’re ready take time to reflect about what could have contributed to your drinking so you can learn from it. I relapsed twice so feel you bro! I’m now 28 days and feel so much better. Still early days but it’s so worth it. Good luck n keep posting!

this was pretty much planned and predicted- a pre meditated drunk.
hope you decide to get a recovery program/plan into action

On Thursday you posted that work was over and you wanted to buy a bottle. Today you say you drank. So you could see how someone might call that planned.

If not planned, why did you drink?

I think the point is that a Relapse happens way before you pick up the first drink. There are 3 stages, mental, emotional and physical.

For the best chance of continued sobriety it’s helpful to look back and work out when you were in each stage before you actually drank so you can be wiser to the signs next time around. x

And that wasn't the intent of my reply, but rather find why you drank and offer some suggestions for dealing with it.

no one has attacked or judged you, toni. just stating the truth. if you dont think it was pre meditated then dont- ya dont have to agree.

no onto solutions- what are you going to do to make this your last "day 1" thread?

That line of thinking never accomplished anything positive for me and God knows that I have done it. I showed them!!!

Everyone here wants to help and everyone here has their own take on the best way to help. It is human nature to think that my approach is the one that works best. If it wasn't the best, why would I do it that way then?

Many times in recovery I have heard things that I didn't want to hear. Some times I needed to hear those things. Some times not so much. All I know is that if I only heard things that I wanted to hear, I wouldn't be who I am today.

A large part of my recovery is accepting that individuals will be who they are, not who I want them to be.

Everyone has things that I can learn from, but only if I stay open minded. I can only be who I am today, by not being who I was yesterday.

Hi Toni

I don't think anyone was trying judge or attack you.
You last posted about wanting to drink, now you're posting you drank.

If you say there's no connection ok, but you've got to admit it's a hell of a coincidence.

Support comes in all shapes and forums.

People take time out to try and help.

Sorry if you feel that somehow went awry with the support this time.

I'd suggest you put it behind you and start thinking about what you can do differently this time?

D

The guilt i read in the headline i drank is hard as this obviously means a lot to you right ? What happened and if a similar experience arises again know as impossible as it seems right now you will learn just as i did dont beat yourself up at all but be sure to learn from it

You dont need luck you need you and remember you have us 24/7 x

I hope you don’t stop posting Toni.....I’m glad to see you get back on board here and know that you do want sobriety or you wouldn’t be on this forum.
Good thoughts your way!
