Weekender Thread 22-25 March 2019
Ahhh thanks CaptainHaddock....your encouraging words mean everything to me and yes, early recovery for me. Today is 80 days for me, the longest in over 20 years but everything is still so new. The theme I’m getting from everyone on SR is “Distraction” and “Changing my routines and habits”, so it’s a concerted effort every day as I venture into my recovery.
Peace to all....

Evening Weekenders, thank you for all the great photos! Sorry Lena, I usually post on an android phone so I cannot advise, congratulations on 80 days though, fantastic!
I went west of my usual haunts to Park Lane and Trafalgar Square in central London today. There were a lot of other people there too from around the country. The sun even came out in the afternoon and of course I had no hangover so all good.

Lena the only way I post pictures is a bit long winded plus it's on a laptop. Basically I create an album on my profile page and copy and paste the URL (I think) from there. I'm sure there must be a simpler way.
Lena, if you don't have access to a PC or laptop I'm pretty sure photos have to be loaded to an online image storage site like photobucket or tinypic or postimage. You have to open an account at one of those photo storage sites, then upload your image to that site. Then they have to be resized to something around 800 X 800ish for forum size. Most storage sites have a "Resize for forums" choice.
Then you can just link the URL by clicking the thing just above the Message box and inserting the URL when you create a post.
I email my images to myself from my iPhone then download them to my computer and then upload them to my Photo Album here. No matter what, it's not an easy clickety click.

MesaDog as a Pup with his then-favorite Hot Dog Squeaky Toy. Away we now go to the Dog Park.
I upload Pix to Post Image, and then embed the resulting URL here. I do some Phone stuff [read here, mainly], but am primarily an Android Laptop Guy. I type ~80 WPM, so nuffin' takes very long.
^^^ Just saw the handy tips that Bim posted. The Hosting Site address has to be https; not just http. This detail is an SR thang [and elsewhere]. Max suggested Pic size is 600 x 800. This prevents an embedded Pic from blowing out the right side margin on this Page; due to it being *too* wide. It all becomes fast, second nature after a few times...

For the photos I'm on an android phone too.
I have exactly the same set up as Sao I think.
An app called Reduce Photo Size. Basically you can take any photo you like with your phone and then reduce the file size for posting here.
I think there are sticky posts with tech tips on the forum homepage...
It's takeaway thai / Cambodian beef loklak tonight... Yummy
Goodnight weekenders.

I click on upload photo (choose a photo on my phone) and it uploads and gives you a url. I copy and paste it straight into my post. Hope it helps
I am IN!
Last weekend (my first) was a complete mess for me, emotionally and mentally. I didn't make it through but am determined this weekend.
It is a huge music festival weekend here so basically everyone stays home or away from the bars, haha to not deal with the craziness.
Today was relaxing, my biggest priority right now is NOT DRINKING and then I need to work on my sleep schedule, I am staying up very late and then sleeping in very late, I hate feeling like I am wasting the day away.
Tonight I will go for a run, treat myself to a spa mask and then get to reading a good book with tea. Looking forward to it.

Didn't get nearly as much done today as I wanted. But my new strings arrived today so I had to drop everything and put them on. I ordered a set for both my tenor ukes. A regular set and a low-g set. Didn't get around to re-stringing the second uke yet.
I have plenty of things to 'distract' me these days. It's getting hard to keep up with all things I want to do.
