13 Years Tomorrow
WOW
God's Grace is amazing. The AA programme works.
About 14 years ago I joined SR...this is where I found out about AA. So many incredible people here now gone...most to suicide and relapse related. Some died sober, thank God.
It works, it truly does.
If you are struggling - look up an AA meeting and go. Or read about AA here. It's a design for living that really works. You can also listen to shares online for inspiration. Nothing beats a face to face meeting though and I can guarantee you wherever you are in the world you will be welcome and if new you will literally be the most important person in the room.
I'm so grateful. Recovery is not easy but it's worth it. I have been the happiest that I have EVER been in these past 13 years and I've been blessed to undergo a psychic change (personality change) sufficient to overcome alcoholism. God gave me that through virtue of working the AA programme. It works if you work it. And you ARE worth it.

Hello, Cathy31
Congratulations on 13 years tomorrow. I got sober 21 years ago in Alcoholics Anonymous. Isn't it amazing when the steps are taken as outlined in the book of Alcoholics Anonymous with a sponsor's guidance how the obsession and the compulsion to drink is lifted from us and saves us from the gates of insanity, being institutionalized, and even death? Now, that's power. Thank you for sharing your hope this morning.

Yes, it does work. If you work it. That's the key. The willingness to do what is necessary. What people seem to miss when they say "AA doesn't work for me." It's a map. We have to take the journey.
Thank you!
