Should I get a sponsor?

I've been avoiding it because I always feel like I **** it up.
Worried maybe the pressure is too much. At the same time it's hard to be out here, trying to do this
. I think I need someone with clear structure. "Call at this time", etc dunno

IMO, everyone who wants to thoroughly work the steps and the program of AA should start with a sponsor to guide them. I also believe in continuing to have one as we go.

Give it a good try. It can't hurt and might help to work the steps with a sponsor.

If you think that getting a sponsor will help your recovery, then do it. Anything that helps is worth pursuing.

If you aren't committed to doing everything within your power to get sober, then you are only committed to repeating the cycle of despair you are locked in.

If you are doing AA, then yes - you should get a sponsor. It's an important part of the program, and if you do things halfway, the results will reflect that most likely.

good question but i think you already answered it
I've been avoiding it

worried what pressure is too much- the pressure of drinking or the pressure of recovery?
you may NEED structure, but youve NEEDED that for a long time.
you have to WANT it. you have to WANT to get sober and be WILLING to go to ANY lengths for it- even if that means getting a sponsor to help guide you through the steps so you can experience a spiritual awakening.

If you're committed to doing AA, then yes I think a sponsor would help you. I wasted a lot of time early on in AA just talking about all my problems at meetings. Once I started to do the work of the steps under the guidance of a sponsor, things changed. I was able to grow and change.
