For anyone who saw my last post I had an ultrasound this morning for my gallbladder.
My doctor just called and my gallbladder has stones like it always has but nothing new or worrisome. Then she dropped a bomb on me, I have fatty liver. She told me lots of adults do and to avoid fatty food. I was like is there a treatment, do I need to make a follow up? Nope, she seemed really unconcerned just avoid fatty food.
I've been completely honest about my drinking with her and that didn't even come up. I'm googling myself into a panic attack. This sucks!
Anyways 11 days sober, definitely facing the consequences of my life choices.

Congrats on 11 days. Drinking any amount of alcohol would be detrimental to your liver's recovery at this point so keep up the good work on your sobriety even if your doc didn't say anything about it. And definitely don't use that as an excuse to start drinking again (the fact that she said nothign about it )
A fatty liver can have many causes though, so your diet and exercise ( or lack of ) could certainly be involved.
If you have concerns it's never a bad idea to get a second opinion, but please stay away from Dr. Google.

I agree that Dr Google is only going to alarm you not help.
With diet and exercise - all that common sense stuff - you have excellent prospects for improving your liver health.
One of the worst things you could do for fatty liver would be to keep on drinking, giggler.

Thanks for your advice everyone. I have no illusion that drinking and living "hard" is not the cause of the fatty liver. I know that I can stay sober and live better and turn it around.
I'm putting Dr. Google away for awhile.
Thank you all!
