By going for it - full on - and taking the plunge.

Guess what, you can do this. Go on, surprise yourself !!

Go to a meeting everyday and log on here everyday. And in between, don't drink.

i think you answered how to start the process.
rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path.
going to meetings is good but going to meetings and not drinking dont treat alcoholism.

its the steps we take- not the meetings we make- that helps us recover from the hopeless state of mind and body.

Hi press;

Is this a "post and run" or will you be back to respond?

When I have relapsed, it's because I wanted to drink more than stay sober and to escape uncomfortable moments.

When I've gotten longer-term sobriety, I'm willing to sit with the discomfort and to stay resolved to not drink no matter what.

The negative consequences which began compounding in my life (relationships, work performance decreasing, etc.) were also initially very motivating for me.

I have a hunch this last thing might be what made you come back recently--maybe you could leverage that into some incentive to quit and stay quit.
What's going on with your drinking, and how is it impacting your life?
Write about it and seeing it all there on the screen may help firm your resolve to quit for good.

Wishing you the best
