Hi, weekenders!

So many great posts, glad to see lots of activity on weekenders.

Petecrab - Hi, there. Remember me? Great that you are back.

I had an overall great boxing workout today, but during the warm up my partner accidentally hit me on the jaw. I am ok, but it hurts a little bit while chewing. Oh, well)

It's sunny, but cold. I checked a monthly forecast and the real spring doesn't seem to arrive till April. I am so looking forward to warm days!

Time to indulge in afternoon coffee.

See you)

Friday evening spent watching a movie with pizza. Did indulge in a few cookies, I think being a Friday it's ok.

Hi weekenders! Hope you are all keeping well.

It's a bit of a drab day today in England. The mini-Spring sunny and warm weather we had a few days ago has gone and heavy rain is forecast for the next few days.

Still, I'm back home now after doing my shopping and now am putting my feet up and will have a nice cup of tea while watching the football (soccer).

I had the same thought. Hope you punched him back harder.

There are some interesting videos on youtube showing the transportation of various airbus parts. Including this wing by barge.

I had an odd dream last night, I wasn't drinking it, but I was serving it....

Ukulele class today and club strum tomorrow then ukestra practice on Wednesday. It's gonna be a good week.

Hafta give the puppy a trim and a bath for his vet visit on Tuesday.

afternoon all. it's a bit grey & murky here, seems like the English summer has come & gone already this year. I'm really sleepy & fighting the urge to have a nap, but I won't sleep tonight if I do. some coffee might be required.

CaptainHaddock - the (Lockheed) C-130 Hercules variant is an (Airbus) A400M Atlas. the big "A400M" on the side is a clue.

Hi again, weekenders.

Vinny, Dragon - I didn't punch him back because it was an accident. It happens)

Interesting conversation about air crafts. Keep those flying machines pics going)

Andy - Any news about job situation?

The "Hell-Not sure yet what" a.k.a "Gentleman Caller (GC)" just called me while watching soccer. It was something, never heard him so emotional. He gave me a detailed explanation what players and referee were doing wrong. After 15 minutes my patience was running thin

I feel emotionally flat today. I think emotional strain takes its toll on me, it sucks life out . I know, whimpering doesn't help, but I am just tired.

It pushes me out of the present moment.

Sorry for the downer.

Accidents in sport do happen! I did martial arts back in the 1980s and during one sparring session my sparring partner accidentally caught me with her foot in a place where guys don't like to be caught. Cue tears running from my eyes. My sparring partner was a woman and she was very apologetic but the instructor simply told me to stop crying! Easier said than done...

Talk of -15C and +35 is alarming stuff to this Londoner where it never reaches those extremes the entire year.

I have not had any drinking dreams for quite some time now but I well remember how vivid and disturbing they were in early recovery. I think the reason they are so disturbing is that we fear they might be a prelude to a relapse but if anything they act as a spur to stay sober

That reminds me of this track and something else that disturbs me, this is nearly 50 years old but I remember the album release like it was yesterday!

MidNB- I do not think you are whimpering.

Whimpering implies a helpless victim- which you have shown over and over - that you are not.

You are validating a feeling, an emotional state- by recognizing it and acting accordingly.

Very good day.

Got up very early (about 4:30am) to give my newborn the first meal of his day. Then I went to work to get a few things done, and hit the gym for a couple hours (running, swimming, lifting, steam room).

Tonight we had my best friends and my mom’s parents over — I made dinner. Homemade crab cakes (keto recipe), crispy-skin salmon, and goat cheese brussels sprouts.

Now we’re all watching a moving and I just put my little man back to bed.

Folks around me had wine, too — and absolutely no part of me wanted a glass.

That is a very good day.

Morning Weekenders

I’m a bunged up with cold at the moment, so if I sound funny you know why

We were expecting rain and wind yesterday but instead it was a lovely sunshine day, I think the weather forecasting just missed us.

Not a lot going on today, since we’ve both retired, a bit earlier than we expected due to redundancy, we’re finding our ‘retired’ feet. So just pottering about, no rush or urgency for anything.

Have a good sober Sunday

Hi fellow weekenders,

It's nice to hear of all the plans for the weekend, I hope everyone has had some fun and happiness. If you are struggling, keep going, it gets better.

I went to watch my nephew's rugby team, they got beaten but it was nice to see him fit and well after his injury. I really need to do more to stay in touch with my sister's family. No particular reason for lack of contact just the grind of life meaning very little time is available to maintain regular contact despite her only living a few miles away.

Preparing for golfing outing now, Storm Freya has been battering Scotland all night so could be an interesting round!

Morning, weekenders.

I've had a very poor sleep, so sitting with coffee and trying to perk myself up.

See you)

Morning all.

Last day for my Irish visitors here on holiday. They go home tomorrow. So they want to go visit Lourdes today. So we are off to there now. My brother in law came through cancer last year so he is rather looking forward to lightning a candle.

See you all later.
