Yep.
My recovery (which includes my spiritual life) comes before everything.
Before my husband, before any job, before any family or work situation, before any friend, before.....there is nothing that could supercede it. Period.
And, by having that set in stone - I get everything else I want and everything that is beautiful and worth having in my life. Best deal I've ever made.

sobriety is kind of like breathing.....we do not consciously think about EVERY breath we take, but we do naturally assure that we CAN breathe. we know we don't do well underwater.......or with plastic bags over our head. we know that, hopefully, should the airplane encounter issues with cabin pressure, the little yellow mask will drop down. we have developed the Heimlich maneuver in the event something gets lodged in the airway. we avoid putting ligatures around our necks.
we do all this to PROTECT our ability to breathe. because it is that important, that essential, life or death.
