I have to agree with Carl. Exercise is part of my daily routine and it helps me clear my head but It doesn’t keep me sober. I work a program of recovery daily. That’s what keeps me sober. Exercise is awesome though 💪🏻
I could run with the wind when I got sober, but I was still drunk after many years of vigorous exercise.
I was also a regular attendee at a great church, but I was still drunk every night.
Exercise is important, but for me it's not plan of recovery.
When I do a long run, there is a spiritual component to the process, but I certainly need a lot more to stay sober.
YMMV.
