Two Years!

Hey there SR!
It is really hard to believe that I have 2 years today! It seems like just yesterday that I left the detox unit once again. I was lost, out of answers and confused as to how I was going to stay sober. I made many attempts to stay sober but was only able to string a few days together. I had managed to damage my health, relationships and my spiritual well being most importantly. I FINALLY realized that I couldn’t do this on my own and admitted I was powerless over alcohol and my life had become unmanageable. I surrendered. I approached someone at a meeting and that person became my sponsor and walked me through the steps. It was a lot of work that I continue to do each day. I want to thank EVERYONE on here who has been nothing but supportive through the tough times. SR has definitely been a life line at some points during this first 2 years!
God Bless
Garrison

Congratulations, comtnman740!

Inspiring post. Glad to see your recovery is going so well.

Anything you've done the last two years you are proud of that you wouldn't have done or been able to do if you were still drinking?

Thanks for sharing,

Evoo

Two Years, a great milestone. Keep it up. By the way have you solved your itching problem? I think I'm talking to the right person. If not, just disregard that.

Great, great job, Garrison

I got, and have stayed, sober by working the 12 steps program, participating in AA meetings, reading our literature and working with other drunks.

Thanks so much Everyone! I couldn't have done it with out the fellowship and SR.
Life has it's ups and downs but if i stay sober TODAY i know i have a good shot at progressing toward a richer, fuller and more spiritual life!

Hey there,
I think the single most important thing that i've learned over the 2 years is that i need to make sure to keep my sobriety the PRIORITY. Afterall, if i lose my sobriety i lose everything else. I know it's not easy some days but it is possible.
God Bless
Garrison
