Day 1

Hi All

Been drinking really badly the last few months.

I've got one day sober under my belt.

Got no dizziness but my legs don't go where I put them. Sometimes I think I going to fall. Why?

Very tired though.

I know from the last time I gave up, it took me 7 days before I felt I had a clear head.

Been reading lots of posts.

Today is a new day for Day 2.

Regards

Welcome, James. I’m new here as well. I’ve also been checking in with the February newcomers group. You’ll find them in the Newcomers pages.
Wishing us both strength. Glad you’re here!

Welcome JamesSquire! You're in the right place. You don't have to suffer alone by yourself. My first few days I was on SR all the time. It helped me pass the time, learn from other ways people were getting through, and getting my feelings out. I'm glad you'll be in the February class.

Welcome back. I'm glad you made it, some don't.
I had a lot of day ones so I know where you're coming from.
Just remember, you never have to have another one.
Maybe it's time to get serious about sobriety?
I know that's what it took for me after many, many failed attempts on my own

Remember, you never have to drink or be hungover again.
And congratulations on day two.

Hi, James - It's good to see you again. This is a great place for encouragement & friendship. You never have to feel alone. There's always someone around to talk things over with. Congrats on your 2 days. Things are going to get so much better.

Hi James

I'd be inclined to see a Dr about the lack of coordination. Its one of the things I think folks should follow up on.

Thanks Dee

I'll wait for the 7th day, as I've had this before and usually dissipates after a week of no alcohol.

Funny part is if I had had a drink it goes away.

I think my brain is readjusting itself.

Thanks again,
JS

JamesSquire,

I used to have very very similar symptoms in withdrawal. Feeling of falling, feeling like my arms or legs aren’t there — followed by health anxiety/freak out. Definitely a feeling of detachment or disassociation with my body parts. Very uncomfortable, scary.

I starting thinking maybe those deeply uncomfortable sensations were my body beginning the process of healing and purging the poison from my system.

Those feelings passed for me. I wish I had done that part with the help of a doctor.

Glad you’re here, hope you keep posting.

well not so funny - at best that's physical dependence, at worst addiction....

Not trying to be mean - dunno about you, but I needed to be 'woke' to such truths.
