Hi Dee,
If we have to go to court it might be a year or more according to our solicitor. I shudder to think of the legal fees. I don’t qualify for the Disaster Recovery Payment since I’m not a permenant resident or citizen according to Centrelink...I did try but it was a bust. I have access to counselling through work but I’m not sure I can stomach that at the moment. If my mental state doesn’t improve I may have to give it a shot. My depression is crushing right now, at least I’m not drinking which would only make that worse. Thanks for your thoughts and advice it’s always appreciated.

That's a lot water up there, keep being strong, you need a clear head to move ahead.
I've been through a few floods in my time and it is depressing especially when you see valuable family photos destroyed. You'll be amazed how many people will come if you ask for help, including your mates at work.
