Buckley, this is the BEST! I love the post and congratulations on this huge accomplishment. I too have some, um, bad travel memories (this one unforgettable trip back from Memphis....how I even made it on the plane I will never know) - and I can empathize with the focus on self-pity (and I'd say how I had to learn to deal with its twin, victimhood).
