Day 3

So I'm already in bed, been keeping busy, cooked our evening meal, done the laundry, done the ironing, had a bath, tried to read a book😫 my mind keeps jumping all over the place, couldn't take in what I was reading. Words kept jumping all over. So I gave up.

So I find myself here,
Starting to feel down,
Trying to keep positive
Trying to tell myself little steps
Hoping sleep comes quick tonight
Least I have work to fill my sat/sun, always tough when my son goes to his dads for the weekend, it's a rollercoaster of emotions all the time, it can get quite overwhelming. But really really try

Have a lovely evening 🙏💖

Great job on Day 3!!

This weekend get into something—clean out your closet, organize something, etc. Sometimes a project like this helps keep your mind busy and in the end you have something great to show for the hard work—clean closet, clothes to donate, etc.

Keep posting!

Day 3 is awesome.

Replace ironing with burpees. I find when I do a bunch of burpees and push ups my mind shuts the he!! up for at least a bit anyway. Seriously, don't laugh. It works. And you'll get fit at the same time.

Oh and 'athle-sure' wear. Never have to iron that stuff

Hang in there. Stay in the moment. If you're sober you're doing it! Knit and crochet are also great ways to turn the brain off. If you don't know how the internet is full of tutorials.

My 3rd night is when I finally got some sleep.
The first few nights my brain would not stop running.

Morning Doris, stay positive.

Take a 20min rest/relax when your mind starts racing and things start getting on top. It did/does me good to recognise when this starts to happen.
Good luck on day 4

Glad you are sharing and hope you did get at least a little rest. Sleep was (is) a challenge for me, too.

What are your plans for a sober day 4? You can do it.

So I've finished work🙌🙌🙌🙌 the shout is loud today, the ole "no one will know, just get a 4 pack"
My heart is racing at the thought.....
Butterflies in my stomach.......
Trying to get hold of my thoughts....
I know it will pass.......
Just gotta get through today, nothing more nothing less..
Feeling flushed at the thoughts.........
I'm gonna be here all day.....
I'm not giving in.....
Not going to work myself up........

Phew that feels good to get that out
🙏💖
