Weekender Thread 25 -28th January 2018
I'd like to welcome anyone new to SR and new to this thread.
Weekends can be a tough time - especially holiday weekends -and that's what this thread is about - support.
We also share bits and pieces of our lives and the things that are important to us, or make us laugh..anything that makes the journey a little easier
If you've never jumped into a weekender thread before - no time like today...do it now!

Hope all is going to be OK with your mom CH.
Sounds like a really great experience you just had ML. Letting go of the old...
Anyway it's time for vman to get to work. Otherwise I'll be the next one on the job search hunt...
No news of snufkin these days...
Later weekenders

Have fun today MB!
Having some coffee before I get ready for work....on the constant job hunt for something better here as well....it really helps kick me in the rear for drinking away most of the money I made in the past!

Good day, weekenders.
Welcome to all new members, sober weekends are fun!
I am back from my "breakfast" which was more like a brunch time-wise.
I had a good time but didn't bring up the "let's be friends" question. I don't know. We are usually chatting all the time and laughing and it's really hard to gather up guts to switch it to the serious topic.
And I really need to focus on the income generating area of my life.
One problem at a time, I suppose)
Congrats to Aussy friends on a long weekend. Stay close to SR to ensure you have a solid back up plan to resist temptations.
Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning and happy Friday. It's looking like I won't be working thru the weekend due to late delivery of expected equipment. (yay).
I am excited because tomorrow starts the first class of advanced ukulele. They call it 'continuing' becasue apparently people just keep coming back over and over. Which it great, I'm looking forward to working with really good players, the challange can ony make me better.
I don't have spell check on my tablets browser. I could paste everything into the office app but that's too much work. I figure you guys are smart enough to understand what I meant. And I hope I'm not offending any grammer geeks either.

Finished work for the weekend,so I'm expecting to be on here a lot, planning a complete house clean , to keep busy. Booked an appointment to have my hair done tomorrow. Need to get on the feel good wagon . May even dust off my lycra and trainers for a country run, headphones in music blaring. Nothing like pounding the pavement to stonking tunes ( been awhile since I've done it ) sending everyone love this weekend will be checking in throughout this tough ole time x
In with coffee and too many chores on my list.
Keeping busy and distracted will ease my worried/anxious mind right now so that's good. Alcohol isn't even a little bit of an option. I can get through it!
MB, we should start a "Blues Girls look for work" thread. Except I am exceedingly bad at accepting other peoples' ideas for my problems.
Manta! Such a great job at sticking to the principles. You're my hero. My last job was so dysfunctional and it was the first job I ever had that was like that. I hope I don't run into it again. I just want to Keep It Simple. No big responsibilities, just go in, do a well-defined job and go home.
p.s...MB don't start that thread! I can barely stand my own thinking on the whole job thing.

Hi, Dragon.
Welcome, Doris.
Bim - Why not? I think it's a great idea and would be a fun way to support other folks in recovery looking for a job.
