No good deed

As the saying goes no good deed goes unpunished ha
I have been very proud of myself this past couple of weeks. As well anot drinking and volunteering, I was able to look after my son, his wife and grandson as they all went down with a nasty bug and were off school and work.

Yesterday I stood in the blistering cold outside the local hospital selling badges to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
I woke in the night with all the symptoms of the dreaded bug! Been dying all day. But even though I can barely get out of bed and can't eat, it's still not as bad as drink withdrawals, makes me think, where was my head at, inflicting feeling worse than having the flu on myself with my 2 week binges and then withdrawals...mad

ugh! How miserable, I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you take good care of yourself and start to feel better soon.

Thanks Mera ☺️ It's not going to go down well me phoning in sick today when I haven't been at the charity that long , but then nothing runs smoothly, I put it down to needing to raise my vibrations as drinking and negative thinking lowers them (or so it says on you tube so it must be true haha)
What is nice though is that family have rang to see if I needed anything when they knew I wasn't well. Makes a change from everyone leaving me to die alone, because "it serves me right" when I have withdrawals!

Oh, what a nuisance that you caught the bug, too.

I hope you feel better soon.

That’s great. Not the flu part. I’m glad you’re living well. It feels great to help people and be useful.

I'm sorry that you got sick, but glad it's not a hangover.

Me too least, I may feel rubbish physically, but I don't have the agitation and anxiety I have with withdrawals. I am way past the hangover stage, when I came round from a binge it was full on withdrawals, everytime and getting worse

I’m sorry you’re sick. Isn’t it crazy that we used to make ourselves feel horrrible ON PURPOSE??

elhen 01-24-2019 03:27 AM

Thanks Dee. When I was a child, we were very poor. But when we were ill my mother would make us a bed on the sofa, we would stay off school and watch TV ( no tv in bedrooms in those days) And we would have a WHOLE bottle of lemonade to ourselves haha and be waited on hand and foot. I wish I was 6 again when I feel like this ☹️
