Morning everyone, Welcome to Weekenders carpetcleaner!.

That is thoughtful of you about Trachemys VMan.

There are a lot more people than usual running/jogging/plodding alongside the canal this morning, I guess people's New Year's Resolutions have lasted at least until the second weekend LOL!

Coffee time here. I really enjoy my weekend, hangover free coffee, it is one of the rewards for getting sober.

Morning, weekenders.

Thank you for letting us know about Gilmer, Dee.

It was quite a shock because, even though I knew the facts, I'd never really believed in my heart she will pass so soon.

We will miss you so much, Cathy!

I felt horrible yesterday - very high fever and nasty coughing started. I didn't eat anything.

Feeling a bit better today. I've made a doctor's appointment for the next week.

Thank you for the soup, Bim! I surely can feel the warmth and it made me smile.

Vinny - New Year's resolutions start tomorrow? Come on here. They start right now. "Discipline equals freedom".

Yesterday my "not a date" called yesterday. Apparently my outspoken manner of speaking didn't scare him away.

He offered to "develop my ice-skating skills" today. I got away easily since I am home bound for at least next few days.

Have a great day, everyone.

I agree with you MB.....I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon, either. Guess I was in denial and hopeful that the diagnosis was inaccurate. I'm glad to have known Gilmer and all of you....hope her family is doing okay....

That's nice of you to think about Trach, Vman....I think Chloe Rose has been in touch with him through the mail, but unsure if he's aware of this.

Somber Saturday indeed, but glad to be here and sober with you all

Sober Saturday night 8.30pm and Iím off to bed. I caught up with some friends this afternoon to listen to some live music in a beer garden. They asked me, ďso youíre still on this not drinking thing?Ē I said yes and that I wasnít planning on drinking again. That didnít go down very well at all. They were very disappointed. Oh well. One told me all about some other friends antics and how drunk all they get and how one 78 year old man has so much fun and often canít string two words together. I feel sad for them. I am not missing that at all but they canít see it. They think Iím a disappointment. I donít think they will ever realise that Iím free, while they remain trapped. Today Iím very grateful to be sober

Just reading back through this thread before my post and read about Gilmer. I'm really sorry to hear that. I think we only have spoke a couple of times, but they seemed a nice genuine person.

RIP Gilmer.

Morning,

She would love that I think, Dragon.

Sober Saturday morning. Do I wish I had drank last night? Hahaha. HA. No.

I'm glad to read Vman and Sao have done their constitutionals. I walked the big hill at the beach yesterday and I felt so good afterwards. The weather is pretty reasonable right now. Gray but warmish. I think I'll go back again today. Snow on the Olympics!

Very much in for the weekend.

RIP Gilmer. Hugs to all. We are all one in this.

Welcome new folks. Hi water ox. I too am a water ox!

Gonna hike today too bim. Hopefully on the other side of the sound closer to the Olympics. This mountains were popping yesterday!

Jumping on this resolution thing too. 52 hikes this year. And sensible diet. In a span of a few short hours I can plan on going keto to low carb to fasting to starch only Too much. Best for me is grandma diet. No S. No snacks no seconds no sweets except days that start with s. Weekends and special occasions. Boring but sustainable. Much easier without gallons of poison.
Lots to do. Play with kittens, shower and pack up a weeks worth of gear for a 7 mile hike. Lol.

Hang in there today folks. Just for today.

Enjoy, BigShoe. The mountains were beautiful to look at yesterday. It's a long drive for me to get to them but I can look.

That "not drinking thing", Willow, is your Life and happiness, and I'm glad that you feel that resolutely.

So I am beginning my weekend of some slow activities, which began not quite so easily with putting my now larger kittens into the cat carrier for their second round of shots. They now know that the kennel is a trap to be avoided, with all the sound and contortions that they can muster. No scratches for me or for the vet, thankfully.

I've got my own morning inoculation from SR getting me going, but no flailing or noises from me about that.

That is so kind of you to think of a Trachs, Vman. I suspect that he knows or that he will be informed by Kathy’s family as they were in touch by mail. Knowing Kathy, she left instructions for him to be notified.

I have Trachs rehab address if you would like it. He posted it in the Sober Bus thread.

Take care of yourself, MidnigntBlueBlue. I am glad that you will be seeing your doctor. Honey could soothe your throat and ginger is touted for breaking up mucus.

Feel better.
