5 days in 🙌🙌😳
 

So I made it through so far, not a drink or any coke for 5days. Been here before but I think something has shifted, it's been a bumpy 30 years 😯😯, so here goes, an be gentle with me 😃

Amazing Doris :) Lovely to hear you've made that shift :) I was listening to a boxer (Tyson Fury) say that about his battle with alcohol and he ended up making an incredible come back :) All the best :)

You might want to take a look at the Class of Jan 2019 thread- under Newcomers I think - which has people getting sober this month like you!

Lone wolf I'm not quite Tyson yet, 😜 but I'm making a comeback for sure 😃

Glad to see you, Doris, and to see the 5 days. If you can stay on the path you're on now you never have to do those first five days again. I love seeing people get committed to their sobriety and rebuilding their lives!

So day 6😳😳😳 the weekend is gonna be challenge that's for sure, My son goes to his dads this weekend, rattling around my house is a dander zone, I'm gonna be calling on you lot for strength 😘😘😘

That's amazing Doris :) what are you finding helps you at the moment or is it just sheer willpower so far? Or distraction etc?

Congrats on day 6 Doris! You may be through the hardest part physical. The emotional journey lays ahead. It is difficult in the beginning. But it is well worth all the hard effort. SR is a great supportive community so I hope you will stick around here.
What can you do this weekend to replace drinking when the urge strikes?

Sheer will power 😳😳 I've been a binge drinker since my teenage years, and done most drugs since the age of 16yrs. I've tried AA wasn't for me unfortunately. So I'm going solo 😳😳😳 but as I've Saud something has shifted inside an I'm ready 😀 it's gonna be a hard hard road to go down but,I have you lot 😃

It is indeed tricky but I think once you get over a few hurdles you will grow in confidence :)
Can you put your hands on my head and transfer some of that shift in me haha I need a hot iron rod up my bum :p

I do not think you are going solo. I have 77 days sober today and would not have made it this far without SR.

Someone else suggested joining the January class. I think that is a great idea. I joined the November class and post every day. It has been extreamly helpful.

When you get a craving always post to SR first.

Lone wolf unfortunately no, I have no family around me apart from my son he's 12😀. All my family live miles away. Pass me a rod 😜. As long as I stay away from alcohol, the drugs don't bother me, if that makes sense, it goes hand in hand, have a beer get a gram etc etc then it snowballs outta control, I don't stop till either I pass out, the money's gone or the shops are closed, I'm a hazard to my self, with no off button 😳😳 so I have to not drink today 😀 x
