Your character is not too weak LoneWolf. I had similar feelings after trying and failing many times. I have just posted a War and Peace length post about cravings, there might be simething in there that might help (and without the F2F intensity of rehab)

I take much better care of my critters sober. If you truly love your dog, give both of you a chance and stop drinking.
