Your character is not too weak LoneWolf. I had similar feelings after trying and failing many times. I have just posted a War and Peace length post about cravings, there might be simething in there that might help (and without the F2F intensity of rehab)

Jeez, I didn't expect panic to get worse tonight. I felt a bit better yesterday and now I've woke up in the night just full of panic and paranoid. :/

Try some mindfulness, and breathing exercises. There are apps, or you can find some on YouTube.

I'm tempted to find him a new owner once my mind is a bit clearer, I love him to bits
You may find, as I did, once your mind is clearer, that you are a better owner. I take much better care of my critters sober. If you truly love your dog, give both of you a chance and stop drinking.
