NYE, what are youuu doing?

I think I may go ahead a get myself the crab legs and prep a fine steak for myself...give a nibble or two to the sweet pup. Alone. Choosing to spend it alone! No party nor date is as interesting to me as a hot bath, a good book and an incredible meal I do not have to share. Leftovers will go in an omelet. This is life now, getting jazzed about meals days ahead of time. Lol.
Starting the new year properly twice in a row! How excitinggg!!
What are you all doing?

Happy New Year all! Keep fighting if you are newly sober, it gets so much better. Perseverance is key!

xx,
Jules

I'm staying home with my critters and will be watching my computer to see the date change to next year. :)

Mark1014 12-30-2018 02:42 PM

Contentedly staying in. Watching some football. Preparing a big pot of roasted tomato soup to have with grilled cheese sandwich. Likely will end the holiday season with a cup or two of hot tea and think ahead to some of the fun things I’ve got planned for 2019. Healthy, sober and thankful.

suki44883 12-30-2018 02:44 PM

Yep! Staying inside where it's warm, in my jammies, with my furbabies! The very best place to be! :)

MantaLady 12-30-2018 02:46 PM

Exactly the same as you Jules!! I’m having a Dead Sea salt bath, full pamper evening and fillet steak with green beans tossed in chilli and garlic. I’ll be in bed way before midnight too. Me, Alfie the cat, no crowds, no bars, no hangover....perfect way to start 2019! Have a good one jules xx

Purplrks3647 12-30-2018 03:36 PM

I plan on gladly staying in as well....though I may need to pick up some more chocolate milk first! I'll be around SR + other online recovery forums & watching stupid movies! :grouphug: :herewego

My NYE plans:

— Early dinner at our favorite Japanese/Korean restaurant
— Cooking black eyed peas to eat for good luck on NYD. (They taste better the next day, so I make them on NYE)
— Hot cocoa and movie with the family.
— watch the ball drop in Timed Square
— go to bed sober.

Doesn’t sound half bad, now that I think about it. :)

A quiet one for me too - nothing out of the ordinary.

An old friend told me once it was the best night of the year to stay home. Amateur drunks in the road he said. My plan is to stay in. I just got cable tv so it is CNN for me, watch the ball drop and off to bed sober.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to make some soup and later cornbread to have a warm meal in the evening before watching TV to see the celebrations, if I stay awake that long.

It sounds like a very nice life indeed, Jules.

Quiet night at home. My husband will make his homemade salsa and we'll kick back and enjoy the evening with food, music and tv.

I will be sober and trying to stay awake until midnight. I will wake up my wife 5 minutes before so we can kiss at midnight and then go back to bed.

Atlast9999 12-30-2018 06:15 PM

Staying in with the family and one other couple. Cooking up shrimp, lobster, and steak. Got a whole bunch of games to play and might just make it to midnight.

Sounds like I'm not alone with the surf and turf and family over idea. My in-laws will be having wine but that's ok by me.

Great plans everyone, thanks for sharing.

I plan on doing the same thing Suki.

My sweet hubby doesn't have a NYE Gig this year!!:MusBand: Yippie!

So, I laughed tonight when I told him how happy I am that he gets to join ME this year. Meaning staying in for a nice dinner, and surfing the TV & Internet for NYE specials.:bbj:

Just me, my dogs and an early night. Nice long walk tomorrow while many others nurse their sore heads.

Zanna 12-31-2018 02:14 AM

I'm staying home with my cat - she's terrified of fireworks :(
I'll be happily munching chocolate and drinking how chocolate with milk for once (I usually just make it with boiling water - too many calories with milk) :)
Happy New Year when it lands on your soil :) Xx

nigey1 12-31-2018 02:21 AM

Staying in watching Netflix and eating cake. Looking forward to gym in the morning

Primativo 12-31-2018 02:40 AM

Staying in and having a cup of tea with a good movie!

Actually have man flu at the moment, so not feeling great. I'm sober though, and that's all that matters!!

Happy new year all! I will be baking cookies for a little lunch party tomorrow for my boyfriend's family. Then we have decided on an easy meal tonight, nothing symbolic or special- just yummy. We got home made spinach and ricotta ravioli to make. Then I think we will watch more of this amazon prime show we started last night, Quantico. The acting and story line is a bit dubious but it passes the time. I'm not much one for binge watching tv, but there is really not much else I'd rather be doing. The idea of going out sends shivers down my spine. Not for alcoholic reasons, just because I am not so into this overpriced, overhyped night. Rather just stay in, comfortable and go to bed.
