New comer here. Actively drinking and trying to come down off heavy drinking bender. I’ve had problem for a years and finally coming to terms. I don’t feel like I have any place to turn.

Welcome Bullets! Super good of you to hit up a meeting . Surround yourself with recovering alcoholics and you're guaranteed to be sorrounded by love, understanding, and support.

I certainly had to fight the physical withdrawal symptoms. Before I quit I was waking up at night in panic / sweats and would drink.

I cold turkied and muscled through withdrawals. I planned on a rough 3-5 days and that's what I got. Still wasn't "fun" after that, but things started getter better.

I remember thinking at that time... That was the first time in years that things were better than the day before.

I get same night sweats can’t regulate body temperature. Anxiety heart beating through my chest.

Not funny but kind of funny I don’t smell very good. I feel like my whole body changes.

I was having major urges today. This is my go-to reminder of why I shouldn't.

Those feelings go away when the drinking stops. Let this be the beginning of their end Bullets.

I feel like if I could just get sober again and thinking straight I would be able to make better decisions. I’m in a place i can’t now on bender.

Hi Bullets - hope you're doing OK,

The physical side of it - the night sweats, insomnia the panic, the anxiety, the depression, the headaches, the shakes - all of that is pretty normal.

Of course if you're concerned seeing a Dr is best.

Generally it would take me a good day or two to start to feel better - by the end of my drinking it was taking over a week.

You can post here anytime and get replies, or use the chat room - but for your safety and the safety of others, we generally don't recommend people start texting or calling one another off the boards as strangers.
