I don't have a lot going on either positively or negatively, just a bit numb today.

I need to get out of my apartment to do something, so I will head to the store to pick up some new variety of cat food for my kittens: they deserve a little variety, LOL. Maybe just getting off my duff will help me to do a few chores around my place to accomplish something more today. A little cleaning and a little thinking together.

I've been looking for some work online to supplement my income, but not much success with that, as I cannot commit enough hours toward what is being asked with my current job. That is a little frustrating, but I will keep up the search. At least I do have a job, just have to wait until Thursday to go back to it.

Wishing all you Weekenders happy days now and ahead.

Welcome to Weekenders Ekohe!

Great to see you LBrain! I did mention you were coming up to 5 years. Brilliant achievement. I'm sure a mod can enable you to access the old account.

Hi everyone!

Great to catch up

I felt the best today mentally and physically that I have in the last 12 weeks. Some of you may know it has been a very terrible 12 weeks for me but I’m getting through sober.

I do have a tendency to catastrophize and be depressed with negative thoughts and overwhelming anxiety, but have been googling ideas and YouTube videos to get that changed in my thought process.

I also ordered the book “the secret“ which is about the law of attraction and positivity power.

I was also reading in academic literature what I have read here over and over and over—— that the power of gratitude is intense!!! The healing power of laughter. The the black hole of anger and sad thoughts. Amazing stuff. LOVE our gratitude threads And those wise ones who are pillars there.

I’m grateful to have found and participate in-again-this weekender thread again after a month or two of absence
Grateful to catch up on everyone and laugh about the P mail
Grateful just spoke with daughter.

Taught myself a little diddty and made my first youtube. It's a short one. Sorry, but you'll have to put your volume way up. I'm still working out the kinks.

Happy New Year!

Billie is gorgeous Least ❤️

Hootowl, I find sweet food, especially icecream, really helps curb the cravings for alcohol, and I will use whatever tools necessary to keep me from drinking.

Congratulations on 5 years Brain, that’s awesome!

Free, I love the Secret. There’s a doco movie on it too

My partner picked up his supplies for NYE. A carton of beer and a box of whiskey. I don’t feel tempted to drink, but I don’t feel like being part of the festivities. It’s a bit hard to avoid though, as we’re several hundreds of kilometres from home and camping out with a whole bunch of loads of people hell bent on getting blotto. I have some nonalcoholic drinks and may just beg off early to bed with a “headache” just because I don’t feel like explaining to a bunch of mostly strangers that I’m newly sober and still grieving for my Mum and Dad who I only lost recently and am still struggling to get through each day without crying half the day. So I don’t think I’m going to be the life of the party somehow...
But I will be staying sober
Stay safe everyone

Enjoy yourself Willow, you deserve a break. In my experience most people don't press the point about why we're not drinking.

Thank you for that video Dragon, it was really cool watching you play! You play really well too.

It is another grey, still morning. I have no idea why there are so few people about, very odd.

Morning, weekenders.

Lbrain - Congrats on 5 years!

Purple - If you mean that I am training to be a pro boxer, then no. I am not taking this path)

Dragon - Thank you for the video! I really enjoyed you playing. Keep them coming!

Sao - Judging by the pic it doesn't look like winter at all.

I wish all the weekenders strength and good plans to make it through the rest of the holidays.

See you)

Morning everyone.
Feeling awful today as I lost my beloved doggie yesterday... I'm in bits. 😭
AV was bellowing out ... I ate chocolate instead.
Hugs xx

Hello All,

Thanks for the music Dragon and the photos of deserted London Sao. Willow I agree that you are a real inspiration. Sorry about you're dog Petals. Zoey I'm doing well thanks. Went jogging or as I should say plodding this morning.

Salutations to all the weekenders...
Thank you all for being here.

Later,
V.
