Happy Christmas All!

Today is my first sober Xmas since 11 years ago when I was pregnant with my eldest son, before that probably 25 years ago or more... (I’m 42)...

Last night I put their stockings out sober, this morning I watched them open the presents sober, today I will enjoy and be present all day!

Thank goodness for for my hospital detox, I needed it, it was comfortable, relaxing and successful and the staff were all lovely and non judgemental (Cornwall, UK) despite me being in 1 designated detox room in a ward of amputees and stroke victims, I think that humbled me and made me more committed to it.

5 weeks today and A.A. has been fantastic, great people, some have been way further down than I was but we’re all alcoholics and we understand and support each other like no others can.
