The thing about failure is that it's never constant. Just because you feel like a failure right now, that doesn't define who you are and who you can become. I remember your posts from last year. I remember you talking about your family life, your exercise routine ... your life sounded great. It can be again. Once you commit to sobriety which you know you can do, you can start living your life as your true self. And your true self already knows how to deal with issues in your marrIage etc. But when we drink we lose touch with who we are. And if we don't know who we are, how can we expect our loved ones to understand us? I hate that you sound so low.... but I'm certain that you can turn this around. Stay sober and stay strong. Everything else will work itself out.

I think Carls on the ball tho - maybe 'marriage and life and the stupid things you do' isn't really the root of the problem, but the symptom?

I get it - it may seem like the root if that's what you feel you're drinking over.... but what if its the other way around ?

The first thing to do is to not drink anymore today man.

I spent several days here glued to SR to accomplish just that.

If I could do it you can too.

Give yourself a Christmas present, RE.

You will most likely even find it helps your marriage and those stupid things you mentioned too
