Need help

hi guys I am back for good I have finally got my head in the right space but I really need some encouragement and help. I have done it before for years but have been drinking pretty heavy the last couple. There I said it I don’t actually have it under control. I’ve had enough I want those years back where I didn’t drink. You were all right and I was wrong. It is getting so much harder to control the family and work and drinking and it’s at that tipping point wheee something will soon give I just know it. Please help.

I'm glad you're back. Yes, alcoholism is a progressive disease and it will get worse until you stop drinking. We're here for you.

Hi nigey - I'm so glad you're ready to take your life back and get free of it. You are not alone.

I'm glad you're back for good Nigey.

If you're shaking the smart money is one seeing a Dr.

Regardless of whether you do that or not, the initial period of no drinking is not much fun. You know that from last time.

You're not going to feel great for the next few days - but it gets better pretty quickly all things considered

Putting it off will just make the experience that much worse when you do it later.

Make today day one - or make a date to discuss things with your Doc.

You've done it before - you can do this

Thx sl for the welcome back. My plan is taking 3 weeks off work I won’t drink. Been 4 days now I also finally made myself accountable to family members in a way I haven’t before.

Have phoned counselling lines etc. whiteknuckling since Thursday and pretty up and down but it’s ok because I’m focusing on the end goal

Lots of exercise but can’t seem to eat much

Just can’t wait to be 6 months in but I know it has to be a day at a time.

In in short I accepted I need help as much as it pains me and I am slowly seeking it. For all issues

I seriously cant go back because it won’t end well.

Thx so much for being here guys and gals. Hope some come along with me.

It sounds like you're serious this time. Unfortunately we never get the years we drank back. And for me that's twenty years of drinking alcoholicly. Oh, how much different my life could have been. But that's all dust in the wind.

We do control the present and our future, though. Remember, you never have to drink again.
I think a group meeting like AA is a great idea once you get things sorted.

Just think of a sober life, no more shakes, no more trying and failing and all the regret, anxiety and remorse that goes along with it. Self-respect and from others. The list goes on. Try listing the positives of drinking.

We're all here for you. And so are others in your community. All you have to do is seek help. I had to. I couldn't do it alone.

Best to you, mate, and keep posting please.
