To clarify, I'm referring to all the times I (and presumably most if not all of us at some point in our drinking) woke up after some drinking related incident and swore I would never do that again. If I had been willing and able to put the plug in the jug that first time, I would've quit when I was 13 or 14 years old. It took me three decades of never agains to accept that I couldn't drink normally and therefore could not drink at all, ever.
