Had to put off rehab.. can't afford upfront fee

I got accepted to line up with the day I get out of detox but it's impossible to pay the upfront fee. It's nearly all my pay so I have had to put off the vstarting date. Very disappointed. My parents won't lend me the money. I need 3 pays to ensure my house and car are covered. Neither can I get a letter from my psychiatrist to finance companies over Christmas. So it was all too quick. Unless my loan shark would give me the money but not going down that path. Just venting. Can't get blood from a stone. I am happily on day 2.

Is a Centrelink loan possible?

I realise you'll have to do with a reduced payment for a while in order to pay it back but but when you're not spending money on booze you might break near even anyway?

Hi Dee. Good idea but I loaned Centrelink for my car service. My first pay is tomorrow. Being paid early. As long as I don't drink it away I can still make it there. They must have prioritised me as ugent. Thanks for your support.

Can you get a job? You said you are an accountant. I know here in the US there are tons of work from home jobs using your computer. Save up the money.

Honestly, Sweeti, I'd sell the car. It seems like it's been a stressor for you from the beginning. Sell the car, pay for the rehab and then think about buying a cheaper car later.

I'm so sorry. It is really too bad your parents cannot lend you the money. Keep posting here so you can get all the support you need.

I agree. Sell the car and go to rehab. When you get out you can see about buying a cheaper car. The most important thing is to get sober.

I also agree, sell the car and use it to pay for rehab, I can't think of a better investment

So the loan is worth more than the car? I'm sorry.

I hope you can work something out sweetichick - if nothing else its an excellent reason not to spend money on booze right now.

I'm sorry to hear that the car sale is not an option, are you still going to go to detox?

Can you take out a loan for the difference on the car?
