Back and a lot worse Just so fed up of it all |
Living in the grip of alcohol really is exhausting. I’m sorry you’re in such a low spot rainy, but then again this can be your launching pad to a better future. Support to you. |
Just as with anything in life, when we get 'tired' of a certain situation WE must work to change that situation. Job sucks, look for a new job/skillset. Hate where you live?..Plan and work towards living some where we'd prefer. Relationship(alcohol is a relationship) not going as planned?..Plan and work towards changing that. It's all in the work and planning. Edit: Sorry..Forgot the 2 main things that helped me; Personal ownership and follow through. Those are key!! |
If you're fed up, make a change for the better. :) Stop drinking, first off, and put all your energy into recovery. It can seem hopeless when you're drinking, but it's not. |
It's good to see you back. Can you think of something positive to add to your recovery program? |
I made several attempts before I successfully got sober for good. The keys for me was finding this website and joining a monthly sobriety group and logging on every day. I also gave up and finally went to AA. What are you going to do differently this time? |
Hi Rainyengland - I remember that feeling... what do you think you need to do to make a Day One? D |
I'm glad you returned to us, Rainy. We're here to listen and help as you get back on track. We know you can! |
Welcome back, RainyEngland! It's good to see you logged in here. |
You've got a good recovery support system here in SR. Hold onto this lifeline tight and dont let go so that you never have to go thru anything in life alone or by yourself. A continued recovery program incorporated in your everyday life will result in a successful sober/clean life. |
Not one of us came to this site on a high note. You can do it, rainyengland. One day at a time...don't pick up a drink today. I made it my goal to go to bed sober. That was my only goal in early days. I went to meetings, I posted here and I healed ever so slowly. You can too. |
I'm Back, Too Hey... just so you know -- I'm in a similar boat. I've been struggling for years with this nightmare. That's what it's like, too -- a nightmare. There are days when I literally open my eyes in the morning wishing I could just fall back asleep and never wake up. I'm so tired of it all. I disappeared from this website almost a year ago. I figured it's stupid to be a part of something I'm not participating in anyway. Stopped going to AA about six months ago for similar reasons. And now I'm back exactly where I started, but worse. I feel such overwhelming shame and self-loathing. It's sometimes unbearable. So yeah -- I'm in the same boat as you. |
Hi Rainy! I know your frustrated, but you know what to do! Don’t let your AV win. He just lies, including the lies when you are fighting a relapse. You are worthwhile, you are able to conquer this thief and as you know already, being sober is your home, not drinking! Fight my friend! SF |
Sick and tired of being sick and tired? That brought you back here. The suggestions from those that have won this battle are here for you. The support is available here and in many other places. Now, it's up to you. Get mad at your addiction. Are you really sick of feeling like ****?, then take action and end it. You can do it. It wasnt long ago I was drowning in it like you. Waking every morning wondering if I could stop or would it just kill me. i never lost at anything, how was it possible that this inanimate psychological dis function could keep me down? It couldn't. Unless I let it. Post more here. Reach out in times of your urges. Distract yourself. Find that spirit inside yourself that wants more. Addiction has a lot of wins under its belt. How bout handing it another loss? |
How's it going today, Rainy? We care. |
