Hello,
I was here about 4 years ago, when I had almost 2 years sober. When I was sober, of course, life got so much better. One of the big changes was that I got a new and much better job. One night I was having trouble sleeping, so I got up. I sat down at the computer, looked down, and there was a full glass of wine sitting next to the computer (my wife still drinks). Without thought, I grabbed it and slammed it. Then the slow slide that we all know so well happened. Long story short, 4 years later, and I'm right back to where I was in terms of drinking. My life has not gone off the rails--yet. If I continue on this path, things will not turn out well. But even with this knowledge, I drive to the store each night. Over the last few years, I have come here to read, but I forgot my password, so I never jumped back in. Then, about an hour ago, at work, I was walking and my old password just hit me. So, kind of like when I grabbed that glass of wine without thinking, I raced back to my office, logged on, and here I am. I know, you guys are going to hit me up for a plan. I need one. Having a plan is how I got nearly 2 years. But I am here so spontaneously that I have not formulated one yet. My tail is between my legs, guys. But I'm ready to get back into the fight.
Onward!

I remember you very well, Malcolm. I'm so glad you wanted to talk about what happened. I did the same sort of thing after 3 yrs. sober - but I reclaimed my life & am more determined than ever. You'll do it!
Welcome back man. For many of us of course it's a long road to sobriety. Has, of course you know, it's the best gift you can give yourself in this life. This life let me have one chance at. I was compelled by your story, as I can imagine being in your shoes in my life as a drinker. Now that you're back, what's the plan?
