Good morning to you all,

There are a couple of Scotland fans in work here too. Sometimes when there is a retirement party or some other festive occasion they come into work in kilts. I shall precise I have not checked the underwear part.

As for myself I have been to Fort William a few times for hiking near Ben. Also went skiing once of all things too near big Ben

As an Irish man I have always felt a certain affection for Scotland. Wo horsy let's not go near the political territory.....

I'm glad you are all successfully through another sober weekend. Today is a week and a day since on a Sunday morning I put down the glass after a pretty bad relapse (one month of whisky daily). I feel better but I am more conscious than I have ever been of the amount of work I have to do on myself. The authority and control I have to take over myself. I have a one full week hospitalised rehab stay next week. I will be released for Xmas. Then it will be decided with myself included the best course of action...

I don't even want to think about work at the moment. I'm still on sick leave...

Later weekenders

Another sober weekend! Struggled a little late on Saturday afternoon, 4-6pm was my usual start time. Working on distractions each day for that time. Looking forward to another sober week.

Morning, weekenders.

Vinny - Will you have an access to Internet while in rehab? And I can totally relate about thoughts about work making you sick.

Phil - Great job on staying sober. My most dangerous time is 4-6 time zone too. Preparation and planning to counter urges is a key.

It's finally time to put myself together - into a new pattern.

Have a great day, weekenders.

I think it was Nietzsche who said "What does not kilt me makes me stronger." I'm a pants guy myself, dyed-in-the-wool!

Hm. Kilts causing problems.

I was in a private group over on Myfitnesspal that had an entire thread dedicated to images of men in kilts.

*goes to look for that thread, because men in kilts.*

ETS: dangit, I quit that group and now can't find it. Probably for the best, I have things to do this morning.

Happy Monday morning weekenders. I'm driving Mrs. Dragon to an eye appointment (and back) this morning, so I took advantage of it and slept in a bit.

This shows me how I need to visit SR more frequently. I've been lurking at SR for years, have been a member for almost a year and a half and this is the first time I have noticed there is a regular weekend thread!

An authoritative Overview of the Kilt...

~ Early History Of The Kilt ~

We got turned on to Skye's Runrig Decades ago while tooling about the Highlands in a rented RV. All were had by a good time.

~ 'An Toll Dubh' ~ Runrig ~

A good Week is wished for all. I've got a new Oven being delivered momentarily, but I managed to install the existing one to Code. A veritable Piece O'Cake. Projects that keep me outta Jail...

Robbie - Better late than never) Welcome to the weekenders.

My therapist gave me an assignment this time. I am doing my best to figure out "why and how" on a certain problem, and my heat is about to blow up.

I wish there was a vaccine available against chronic overthinking.

I am super glad I have boxing and crossfit later on - it will surely get me out of this insane show which is going on in my head.

Mesa that's cool runrig. Scottish Gaelic. An toll dubh the black hole. In Eire we have a very famous 16th century political song an roisin dubh - the little black rose. The Dubliners and notably Banjo Barney McKenna used to play it on the mandolin.

Welcome to Weekenders Robbie.

I always wondered what the Nietzian view on kilts was. A lot of this kilt stuff reminds me of Coca Cola inventing the modern Christmas.

Long tiring day today - I would definitely have spent the evening in the hotel bar in days gone by and then driven the 700m/1200km home hungover. As it is I have booked an extra day for for rest and sightseeing. I have not mentioned this to my boss yet, I better email him in a minute

It’s still raining here, hooray
When I was a little girl and we went to Scotland to visit family, I thought it was most unfair that kilts were considered boys clothing not girls, as my cousin (a 9 year old boy) had told me that being “just a girl” I wasn’t allowed to wear a kilt! I was so upset. But my darling Mum took me out and bought me a bright red tartan kilt (I was about 8) and I couldn’t wait to put it on, and I was allowed to wear it out of the shop. I wore it proudly home and boy was I one fierce little warrior when we got back to my cousin’s place!

Thanks SoberLeigh. Now that I know there's a dedicated thread every weekend it's somewhere for me to hang out in as weekends have been my downfall recently.

He was OK MidnightBlue, I mentioned some "loose ends" that needed to be dealt with. Ha! He cannot complain as I drove up on Saturday at short notice.
