Hi all, I have been around the forum for a while reading but this is my first post. I'm a 42 year old alcoholic male from the UK. I am currently 9 months sober after my last binge. I decided to start posting as a form of extra support with the upcoming holiday season always being a big trigger. Thanks

It's great to have you here, and yes the holidays can be stressful so I hope you come here and post and read to realize you're not alone.

Thanks guys. Will be a testing time for me as my father died 6 weeks ago, so will be on my own this year, but I will be sober.

I'm so sorry about your father. I hope you'll stay with us & keep posting. Holidays are rough when we're newly sober, but you'll feel so good getting over this hurdle. :) There's nothing in it for us - only misery.

Hi Will. Tremendously fantastic that you made it to 9 months on your own - how the heck did you do it? I am so sorry for the loss of your father - and even more kudos to you for making it through that and staying sober.
