Spiraling down fast

me again
my best friend after being clean 60 days 3x in rehab btw relapsed this time worse than ever
lost so much weight it’s scary
and the last text he sent is he no longer wants to talk to me not because he doesn’t want to but think it’s befter because it’s either death or jail for him
what do you do ? So you just let them die! !

You have to let go or be dragged. I am sorry for his bad choices but you can't control his behavior, only how you react to it.

One of those AA saying is : " Let go, Let God".

Have you heard it before? Maybe in another setting? Let this go to your HP (higher power). We have to put our own Recovery first, to be that example for those who come after us. You can share this story with others, you didn't drink. No Matter What.

I had a friend do the same thing. He's dead now. There was nothing I could say to him at the end. He seemed perfectly happy to drink himself to death. And he did.
I didn't drink over it.
In fact, it strengthen my resolve. Cunning, baffling, powerful.
I miss him. And try to remember him sober. It's sad.

Sucks,but at that point it's either more manipulation or their wishes/wants.

just feel so helpless...and it’s such a shame and waste of a potentially great human being
