Why I stay sober

Hi all,
I am three weeks sober by the will and grace of god and it makes me feel ill when I think of drink or see others drunk. Why I stay sober are
(1) To avoid dying from chirrosis of the liver.
(2) To avoid brain damage from alcoholism.
(3) To spent the money on more enjoyable activities. The money I saved I am now on a weekend break in Spain.
(4) To not feel depressed will this is not total lifted it is worlds apart from waking up with a hangover
(5)I have more time to spend with my family.
(6) I have more energy
(7) exercise is easier
(8) I can now accept and deal with my past grief
(9) My anxiety has got better but it's still a work in progress I can now at least get up and go out without the alcoholics fear.
(10) My relationships with people has increased 10 fold.

Welcome back jhonny

Do you think those things will be enough to keep you sober long term? (genuine question)

Jhon,

I find it funny in a dark way how folks can be so addicted to booze and keep meandering through life.

With the education sr and the Internet have offered, if i ever relapse, doubtful, it wouldn't be for long.

I am just these days really experiencing some amazing strengths and freedoms.

Booze was like a world within the real world. Addiction is that in general.

I stayed out till 1 am last night partying w the wife. Sober as a plank.

Tonight i am out doing it again.

Freedom and strength to us all.

Thanks.
