good read

Reading A Happier Hour and this really struck me... hope it can help someone else tonight too!

“What if ‘controlling my drinking’ didn’t mean learning how to moderate, but creating a life so complete and fulfilling that alcohol couldn’t add anything I didn’t already have? Is that what this was all about? Did I need to create a life—and a relationship with myself—that I didn’t want to escape from?”

Great post. Thanks for sharing, I’m currently filling the voids and living a better life without alcohol.

I can certainly testify to the efficacy of building a sober life I love.

Its just me, but I wouldn't call it controlling my drinking tho - it's more accepting and recognising the drinking as the self destructive and totally insane life stealing thing it is for me and drinkers like me.

Thanks for post, definitely food for thought . I think everyone deserves a life they don't want to escape from it's just figuring how to get one that's the hard part.

I built a new sober life from the wreckage of my drinking days. :) It took some effort but is worth it. :)
