One week at 9 pm EDT

Last Saturday we had a big family dinner at a restaurant for my sister's birthday. I had two glasses of wine. We left the restaurant just before 9 pm. So in a few minutes, it will have been one week since my last drink. I'm feeling really good about that.

Congratulations 🎉 before the wine how long did you have? I wouldn’t say that’s a relapse but it could be a sign of one or just a hiccup on the path to recovery. I too had 2 glasses of wine this week with a coworker. I realize how it caused pain in my stomach and I’m not letting it ruin all the gains I made in the last two weeks. I didn’t drink more but felt the monster awaking and decided to just eat something and go home. It’s hard to be strong early in recovery dealing with situations that involve alcohol

Before last Saturday I had not made the choice to quit, so I wasn't counting at that point and had probably had drinks every day for some time, maybe a few months.
