Nurse call about alcohol use
I have a colonoscopy scheduled and the nurse called and asked a bunch of health questions. One was about alcohol use. In the past I always downplayed my drinking to health providers. But this time I was proudly able to say no alcohol in over 3 months. It felt good. The nurse said "hardly any alcohol use then" and I could honestly say that was now true. Considering an old drinking buddy passed through town and I did not drink with him made it all the better. I had the chance to jump back to drinking with an old friend and I did not. Although I am not enthused about the colonoscopy, I am glad I was able to have something good to say to the nurse!

I get a good feeling too when I can say that I don't drink at all.
