Favorite motivational quote/saying/mantra for your recovery?
Journaling and reading has been helping me a lot this last month not drinking. I have a page I keep going back to of quotes/sayings that seem to help when I’m feeling low.

Does anyone have any sayings or quotes that have helped them through a hard time?

The serenity prayer always works for me. Accepting what I can't change, courage to change what I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Whenever I'm struggling and my AV is particularly loud, I remind myself that
"I've NEVER regretted NOT drinking" Not once.

This is basically the premise of Allen Carr's book. To look at alcohol as a poison or destructive force.

In order to be truly free, one must go through the mental shift in how they look at alcohol.

This quote also applies to dealing with other hardships or problems as well. As the saying goes...problems create opportunities.

It was someone on SR - they said, "I don't have one more relapse in me." There are all kinds of things that are weirdly meaningful to different people. That one just resonated with me. I don't have one more in me either.

I like how on Seinfeld when George's dad would get mad, he'd yell "Serenity now!" I do that a lot, really helps!
