Weekender Thread 19-23 October 2018
Welcome to Weekenders Purpleman.
Great pics VMan, that's a very purposeful looking swan.
It's unseasonably warm and sunny in London which is great as I have escaped from the office. This pic is of Charing Chross and in the distance is Nelson's Column. Technically when I took the photo I was in the exact centre of London as all distances - road, rail etc are measured from it.

Tetra, I loved your post! I used to go to Zumba, but was absolutely the worst one in the class. And even in the back row, far corner, I could see myself in the wall of mirrors, and just cringe. Everyone else seemed so amazing! I switched to the elliptical and running … doesn't slap down my ego quite so much. (I sound like I'm a work-out gal, but truthfully I'm pretty lame … just do what I can when I can, and that's just fine. Every little bit of exercise helps. My favorite is walking my dogs on our trails.) Nice to meet you!
Goooooood morning. It's 6AM here, and I've already had coffee.
Today I have to eat within my calories, as yesterday turned into a day. It happens. I was loathe to step on that scale this morning, though. No good food goes unpunished? Nah, it was worth it. Just have to buckle down a little for a few days and all will be right with the world again.
It has been so gorgeous here. Mid sixties and clear. I went to the zoo and even all the zoo critters were bouncing around.
Oh! The Eagle cam is back up for the season, so you can get bored with my updates again.
There won't be eggs for about a month, but they are remodeling the nest.
This is a scap I got from last season:
Eagle Cam

Hi, weekenders.
I lost my post earlier today due to some forum issues.
So, I wrote that I was in very low mood and barely got myself together for boxing my the skin of my teeth.
Guess what?
Had a great workout nonetheless.
Which serves as a great reminder that an emotional state is not the most correct indicator of the outcome of efforts taken.
Vinny, hope your daughter will get better very soon.

Thanks friends for the reminder that I need to get back to the gym.....I've been slacking really bad! Great job you guys!
Hope your daughter is feeling better Vman
Haven't started laundry yet, but coffee and movie marathon of "Good Witch" has begun!

Good Morning. Having first of many cups of coffee
Oh Vman hope the vomit patrol gets a break today. And everyone feels better soon.
Tetra you do sound so positive. Really nice to hear. Amazing what some body movement will do for the brain. I really can relate to MB ‘s post. Sometimes dragging myself to the gym gets a great workout. I will bargain with myself like. Just go. You don’t have to exercise, decide once you’re there.
Pea soup here today. Going to get our hiking gear together and then wake up the mrs. To head away from the water and hopefully to blue skies.
Bimini- new aquarium here in Tacoma supposed to be pretty cool. Haven’t even been to the zoo down here yet. I like driving around the park looking at all the signs that say don’t feed the raccoons with a real raccoon standing there like a guy on a freeway ramp looking for a handout.

BigShoe, The Tacoma zoo is awesome. I've been to the Aquarium in Seattle, but I scuba dive and that's much better in my opinion. I like it that they can swim away from me. Never know what I'll see.
p.s. I was looking back on last year's eagles and that image I posted was when the eaglets were four days old. They fledge at about three months.

You are all probably familiar with this but it deserves a reminder :
The native described this conflict within himself as a dogfight. He said to the missionary, "It is as though I have a black dog and a white dog inside me fighting each other constantly." The black dog, he explained, represented evil and the white dog represented good.
The missionary asked him, "Which dog wins the fight within you?"
After several moments of silence, the native said, "The dog that wins is the one I feed and the dog that loses is the one I starve."
Step into the GOOD.

Happy belated birthday, Tetra! I’m very glad your new coworkers honored you. You’re a genuinely nice person.
Lately I’ve been wondering if I should go back on my treadmill for a few minutes each day. It might give me extra energy, and might improve my mood.
Another pipe dream!

Hi weekender friends.
A much welcomed cool day here in the Deep South.
Gym done. Breakfast done for my girls. Patio coffee time now.
Oh I hope your little one has turned the corner Vman. Our neighbors are just now sending us pics from Kennare. That’s usually our home base over there. They are falling in love with your home country.
I really enjoyed your pic MesaMan. It always fascinates me to go up that lift and step off in what feels like a world away from Palm Springs.
Today will be pumpkin carving day. Shall I go scary face or funny face.....the big decision each year.

Oh, the eagle cam! I can’t wait; thanks, Bim.
MesaMan, I love that lift in a Palm Springs, too, although zi hold on to that pole for dear life (as if it would nelp ). Walking in the snow at the top is surreal.
Greetings and love to all.
Let’s do our beautiful sober thing for another Weekend!

It is noon where I am — just finished my coffee after a real sleep-in. Getting over a cold, and still feeling a bit punk. Sunny and mild outside. Food next, I believe.
So glad for weekenders, both new and seasoned.
Tetra - I am so impressed - you rock. I bought a bike just before getting sick, so I haven’t tried it yet. There are bike trails near the office where I spend my days now, and a covered spot for storage, too. Will post how my first bike ride in about 20 years goes, when it takes place!

MidnightBlue - I am sure glad you posted your lost post...about fickle and feckless emotions being poor indicator of what one should do next!
I’ve caught up reading. Thanks for greetings from one and all. I have been a fickle weekender, and grateful for anyone to still remember me!
Ok, enough with the sitting. I am going to get up, make blunch, start laundry, and go outside for a bit of sun before the clouds roll in again. Happy Saturday...keep your wits, everyone.
