Day 5

Feeling well today on Day 5. I woke up and ordered in breakfast, and then I just treated myself to a 90 minute body massage. It was so relaxing. The place I go to does such a thorough job. It's far better and rewarding than sex! Now I am just working on some notes for work, and then I plan on going to an AA meeting later tonight.

I've had great massages, but...I'll have to respectfully disagree.

I'm on day 5 also, let's keep going.

Congratulations on Day 5! Life is so much better sober. Drinking is so self destructive and unnecessary.

Congrats on day 5! A massage?!? What a great idea. I think I need this too.

Yes! If you think about it, a massage is the antithesis of drinking. Calming, relaxing, healthy, stress free. Helps to get the toxins out of the body that drinking caused.

Congrats on day 5! In early recovery, I think it’s ok to pamper yourself all you can, lol. Important thing is keeping on adding up those sober days.

Yes, the pampering helps to counteract the depression in early recovery. I think this is what rehabs do (pamper), and so I’m just doing it outside of an inpatient rehab. And yes, I need as many sober days as I can get. Eventually this pattern of getting a week and relapsing is going to have a very regrettable consequence, so I am desperate to break the pattern.

That massage sounds amazing! I agree, anything you can do in early recovery to comfort and spoil yourself in a healthy, relaxing way is an outstanding idea. Keep it up!
