Weekender Thread 12-15 October 2018
hello all! I am in for the weekend, my last solo weekend, husband comes home tuesday after being gone for almost 2 weeks. And my sober muscles were in full strength as I never wanted a bottle and we all know how much of a free pass to drink that usually is.
Weekend plans, besides not drinking, is to get some more flower bulbs planted and some baking in.
take ya'll!

Hi everyone, It's friday. Still have work today, it's going to be a long one. I haven't figured out if I'll be able to escape somewhat early but it'll be a 12-13 hour day no matter what. It's going to be a huge party at work tonight and Ideally I'm gone before the madness begins. We have a dueling piano show and it brings out a lot of people and they party. I'm hoping to snag a three day weekend. We shall see.
Enjoy your friday everyone! Hang in there. Distractions help move the day along.

That band has been a huge part of my life, I've been to more than 65 shows now. They have a song for everything!
Today is looking better, driving myself to work so I'll escape before the madness begins and be back to my quiet home.

Here's a message for all the Weekenders:
I got a piece of good news in the mail from Trach today.
After his initial tough detox from both alcohol and nicotine, he is doing very well now and really, really likes both the center and the treatment.
He has six classes a day that focus on recovery and personal development, and one that is faith-based (I don't think Trach was particularly faith-based when he went in, but he is very grateful and receptive to every bit of help he can get--and there appears to be a lot at this place of every kind). He has five counselors/advisors.
It sounds like a really well-rounded place: they have hiking, fishing, sports, church and Bible study for believers, and plenty of personal space to get alone and think. He says that he is fed well: three meals a day plus snacks.
For continuing residents in their fifth month who are doing well, there is a jobs program--and with, if I understand him correctly, comes transitional housing, which is quite inexpensive.
Currently he is blessed to have a really cool roommate.
He seems very pleased to be exactly where he is.
Keep the postcards rolling in: both he and his roommate are really encouraged by them.
