Two Milestones, well sorta...

The first and best is that it's been 30 days since I've had any alcohol and things are definitely settling down and feeling much better. Woot Woot!

The second and unfortunately more somber milestone was this day in 2014 when I went cold turkey after an obscene amount of daily drinking with vodka for many months, if not a year, prior to that time. Although I had stopped, it would be three months later that I found myself in the hospital due to unrelenting anxiety and inability to sleep.

These two events just happening on the same day (I calendar everything, haha) really reinforces my need to stay sober from here on out. I'm going into this bought of sobriety in such a better place, but it's not lost on me that I could be back where I was in 2014 one day if I happen to drink again.

Congrats and good work on using the past as reinforcement rather than another excuse to drink. Many of us, including myself, used past failures as evidence of future failures - not the way to change your life. Nice work and keep it moving.
