Day 4 and Birthday

Well, I'm on Day 4 today- woke up feeling ok, had a big brekkie and am now feeling sluggish. Sleep takes a while to come on at night, but I do eventually fall rock solid asleep for a while.

I took the day off for my birthday. I feel like I "should" do something special to pamper myself - get a massage, buy something, etc. Not many friends in this new area for me, so it would be easy to fall into the "poor me" trap today. A year older, a year alone, poor me, poor me. Will need to stay vigilant for that and the AV attaching itself.

With just a few days, I need to keep sobriety #1. I'm still vulnerable. If I push it too much I put myself in danger. For example, if I were to head into the city for some pampering and get caught in traffic on the way home (common), that could blow it all - hate traffic. Small things still can set me off.

So maybe I stay close to home, watch movies, and pamper myself in the warm comfort of my apartment...and post here.

How do you treat yourself in early sobriety on your "real" birthday?

Sounds like a good plan...I love the city of Portland. Cruisin it clean could be a blast (the best coffee I have ever had, including Washington St.), or if there are triggers stay at home. I know that in my cray mind, I am either continuously chasing some sort of carrot goal, or beating the **** out of myself. On my bday, I have always given myself a pass of sorts...or I try to. Good luck, happy you day and be really good to yourself. Grats on 4, but especially today!

Happy sober birthday! To many more of those.

Oh yes, nice cake/pastries with a few good movies!
Maybe look into hobby workshops in your new area to find new things to do and meet new people.

Happy day to you.
I go for drives in lovely scenery as a reward.
Or a good meal.

I ventured out and treated myself to some yummy Vietnamese food, now reading SR and drinking a warm cuppa in a coffeehouse. Thanks all

Happy Birthday

I do something nice, usually with friends and loved ones.
As I get older I realise how special those moments are.
