Hi All,

11 months in! It's been quite a ride so far.

For the first 8 months or so, I was abstaining from drugs and alcohol successfully. Here and there I would have thoughts of using, but they weren't overwhelming and I could get by once I understood they would pass. That was until my anxiety came back full swing and I was slipping into a dissociative, depressive state. At that point, I knew had to make a change.

I started therapy and attending AA meetings, 1-3/week at least. Right now I have a commitment at what I would consider my homegroup, and it's going well. Incredibly grateful to be sober and gaining in life in ways I otherwise wouldn't have been able to.

Best to all you newcomers like myself! We can do this.

I'm glad you're ding well, and good job on knowing that you needed to talk to a therapist about your depression.

That's great. AA meetings really helped 'balance' my anxiety/depression in early months. I mostly went to morning meetings and it was a positive way to start the day.
