I Like Being Sober

It's a beautiful, crisp autumn morning.

I'm not hungover. I'm was up early. The coffee is good. It is quiet and peaceful. My mind is quiet and peaceful.

I really like being sober.

That's all.

Yes, Buckley! I don't know why I fought against it for so long.

Love it!

You can turn it into a haiku and hang it on your mirror as a reminder of how good you feel.

Crisp autumn morning
Up early, not hung over
The coffee is good.

Right there with you! It's remarkable how clear and beautiful even little things can be when you're not crippled with the aftermath of drinking, or worried about future drinking.

And fall is my favorite season!

Buck,

I am fighting the flu bug. Not sick, but not normal.

If i was drinking still...living hell time.

Detox and sick...drink while sick...horror show.

Two little parties yest....one had most folks drinking. Company tab.

Didn't envy them at all. Not a bit. I had a virgin bloody mary. It was delicious.

I shut the first party down. Everyone left was tired looking, slurring their word. Lol...not my idea of fun at all. I only drank in the past because i was addiicted and uneducated.

I was still fighting the cold all night. Drove half way across town...party two.

Shut that one down as well. I ate too many potatoe chips.

Feel amazing this morning minus the little cold and chip OD issue..

Happy Saturday SR ohana!

Thanks.

100%. I knew that I had a chance at sobriety because I actually liked being sober. I liked drinking too, but eventually I liked being sober MORE than I liked drinking. Besides that it is a higher quality of life.

There is a level to this that's hard to explain to anyone who hasn't gotten sober. Life is teeming with life, even if it's not all easy and pretty all the time. Sobriety is everything. Thanks Buck.

Same here, Buckley! There was a time where I couldn’t imagine what it would be like not drinking every single day. Now I enjoy being sober!

Being sober is great. Having a coffee, got the radio on, just enjoying this wonderful Sunday morning, not worrying about where the drink is coming from today.
