Searching for answers

Hello, had my last drink 10 days ago. Don't have any urge to drink at this time, but I am struggling with anxiety and physical pain in my abdomen. Doc gave me some benzo's for anxiety, and some PPI's for the stomach pain, but it still kinda hurts. Scared that I may have done some terminal damage to my organs. Waiting patiently for lab results and my next doctor visit in five days. Going to have and MRI or CT (can't remember) scan in a couple days to see whatever can be seen by that. I'm ******.

Welcome to the family. It's normal to feel anxiety over any damage done by drinking. The best thing you can do is to follow a healthy lifestyle and hope for the best.

Hi and welcome CC

Detox is never pleasant and I experienced many of the same things, but it all turned out ok.

Needless to say tho if you're concerned don't hesitate to see another Dr or go to your local hospital or whatever.

Glad to have you with us - this is a place of great support

D

Crich- although awaiting results is scary- and no point (or little) in saying do not worry...I think you done good in actually doing the tests. Better to know and make proactive choices.
Support to you.

Well done on 10 days crispy. You are already doing the best thing you can do by seeing your doc and not drinking. Alcohol wreaks hell on our digestive systems. Especially because we alcoholics love to drink on empty stomachs. Follow your docs advise, stay healthy and avoid booze at all costs.

10 days of sobriety is fantastic!

I'm glad you talked to your doctor and that you are having tests done. Try to wait and see what comes of the tests before you worry too much.

Welcome, crispy! It's so good to have you with us.

You must be so proud of your 10 days - what an achievement! I was sure I'd done terrible damage during my 30 yrs of drinking, but I hadn't. I'm hoping you'll have good news - please do let us know. Meanwhile, we're happy you're here.
