Finally made it to one week sober

It’s been months since I can say 7 days. So relieved, especially where I was 7 days ago and basically going crazy. My new goal is now 10 days.

The first week for me is hard so well done.
I cant wait to be there again. Better sleep clearer thoughts. If only it was easy to get there easier.

You are off to a good start Freedom. You should be pretty well past the physical craving by now, assuming no other chemicals in the mix. The next thing is to somehow rearrange your psychy or bring about a change of personality and outlook so that your mind won't put a glass in your hand when you are off guard. Any ideas on that front?

I’m just trying to take all of this day by day and work on my diet and developing a healthy lifestyle. I am trying to lose 17 more pounds to reach my goal weight. 27 more pounds to reach my ideal weight. Abstinence from alcohol, diet and exercise will help me achieve this.

stay focused, stay close to SR. I remember being a week in and I was all over the place. Congratulations on a week! Maybe the toughest week for me.

That's a great start. It's a cliche, but sobriety is literally one day at a time. I don't think any of us say, I'm going for 20 years of sobriety. That's not realistic. But one day after another is very doable, and after a while the days really start to add to to significant sober time, and once the train is rolling (to mix metaphors), it gets easier.

Thank you everyone. I am more optimistic and think I am beginning to think more clearly.
