Day off struggling.

Don't have work to stop me drinking.

All i can think about is drinking. And stopping tomorrow again.

Head is pounding

Yesterday you promised yourself a chill out day, not a drinking day. Remember your commitment. Stay strong, stay close to SR. Cravings pass.

I'm having a tough day as well Al.

Hang in there. We can get through this.

Just think how proud you’ll be of yourself tomorrow when you don’t drink today. It will get easier and easier as time goes by. Find something different to do. Something you’ve always wanted to try but couldn’t because you were too busy drinking.

Well i got up and went to the gym.

Felt better for a while.

Urges back but trying to stay focused.

Just hope this gets easier!

Keep going Michael. Day 13 for you I think?

Hey Al. Hang in there. I find days off really hard. Exercise, meditation and sweet stuff really helps he. Just remember too how awesome you will free waking up sober xx

MissOverIt 09-17-2018 12:52 PM

How ya doing, Al? :)

It gets better. Have you seen and read the post on Urge Surfing? It's a great technique for the early days. Just search for it.

When feeling like this you always have to fast forward and ask yourself if it's worth giving into the cravings when it results in feeling all that anxiety and guilt the following day.

It will DEFINITELY get better. But it only gets better if you stick with it, otherwise you will always be reset back to the painful early days of sobriety.
