Got a sad email from Jack's rescue lady who got him from VA and treated him for heartworms. She is devastated to know he's gone. He touched a lot of lives.

I was feeling sad and Billie jumped up into my lap and started licking my face. She comforts me. I tell her how much I love her and that I'm glad I adopted her. She knows I love her. All those tummy rubs tell her that.

My vet did a kind thing for me today. I got a bill for the boarding during my trip to CA and it only included boarding for Billie. They said they did not charge for Jack as he died so soon after I got home.

What a loving thing to do. One of the many reasons I love my vets. Things like that renew my faith in human decency.
