advice needed!

Hi all, new to this forum. Looking for some advice, a person I love dearly told me a few days ago he has a problem with coke, last night I got a better insight inot how bad things are . I want to help and support him but unsure of best approach?

Hi and welcome concernedbenpen :)

I moved your post here for more response - you posted in out chat admin forum which is not the chat room :)

Its tough when you have a friend in trouble like this. I really think the only thing you can do is communicate your concern and let him know you're there to support him.

The actual decision to quit has to be his - I don;t know of any other way recovery works.

btw the chat room link is:

Welcome to the family. :grouphug: I hope your friend decides he wants to get clean. You can encourage him, but the decision to get clean has to be his.

You’ve gotten good advice already. If this friend didn’t express a desire to quit then I think all you can do is let him know you are here to help if he needs support to get clean. I don’t know what your relationship is but I’d take care not to lend $, etc. because it is not really helping the way it sounds like you want to help. And come post here for support often. Or post in friends & family. Good luck to you!
