Thanks Vman I’m feeling a little better now, I went outside, had a walk and got a nice barista coffee I’m still feeling a bit melancholy but no more tears for now. On Sundays I would usually catch up with Mum for a cuppa, and this is the first Sunday I’ve spent on my own since Mum passed away, so I guess they’re going to be a bit bittersweet for a while. But I just baked a cake so I’m going to eat some and that will surely help too I used to have coffee with Mum then start on the wine.... Now it’s coffee out and about and then something else.... no wine for 4 months. No Mum for nearly a month. I think I need a new Sunday afternoon hobby.... I can’t keep baking cakes and eating them or I will just expand sideways

Morning Weekenders.

Great to see you Mark! I hope you enjoyed your trip to the capital.

Too lazy to go for a run this morning, i'll forgo my usual Sunday breakfast burrito to compensate.

Good heavens this thread was a lifeline of support early on! I’m happy to see some familiar names along with a host of new.

For reasons unknown to me the change of season tends to be a bit unsettling for me in the sobriety realm. Go figure. Anyway, my class thread isn’t active anymore so best to hang out with this fine crew a bit!

BTW, thanks Sao for your guidance re Kings Cross station in London. All worked well and I’m looking forward to a return next June.
I thought I was the only one who made random trips to the Capital!

Hello there Mark.

Thank you Venus for your words of support … I did fine! And with Saturday night behind me, I can breath a little easier (today is my 21st day!, so I still can't let my guard down, tho).

Willow, your mom and dad are so deep inside your heart they are going everywhere with you. Keep holding them close. There's so much love there. I'm so proud of you for staying sober during this, and they would be proud of you, too! You are in my thoughts today and every day.

Happy Sunday, all you Weekenders.

Good morning gang!

Reading back a bit reminded me how much support this thread offers.

Willow, I’ll echo Vman in that it seems you’re handling this early stage of mourning incredibly well. Great memories can be made over a steaming cuppa! Looks like you’ve got a load of those with your mom..

And yes, my day of passing through London was wonderful. The fates provided fine weather for virtually the entire Scotland based holiday. Therefore lots of Scottish dirt on my hiking boots as hoped for. .

Haven’t seen Ken around, does anyone know how he’s doing?

Morning, checking in at the start of my day. Grey and cloudy outside, rain in the forecast. I'll try and get some indoor organizing done...

Mark ~

Ken's doing very well. I'm in touch with him several times/Week. He certainly was one of those supportive Folks that shored me up here in The Early Days.

'Round MesaVille, here, it's All Tech - All The Time. The Wireless Router pooped the Bed yesterday when I Power Cycled it after a glitch. SOOOO, I speed read some Geek Reviews on the run, and got a nice one locally. THEN, at the Dog Park, Reviews indicated annoying glitches were seen in it over time. Took it back for a pricier one from another Manufacturer; fit for Gamers and really high tech needs. WHICH we don't have here in Rural Redneck Nation. Got half-a -dozen Gizmos encrypted and hooked up to this new Router, and running by Lunchtime.

I've been putting some new, higher-powered Solar Panels on our Camping Trailer, and will knock that out in 2 more Days or so. It's Pedal To The Metal, since I'm away this Wednesday for a Week of Boondocking solo with MesaDog while MesaMate hangs with her GFs in the Midwest. MesaDog misses me when I'm busy on Projects, so he retrieves me his fav Towel. What Golden Retrievers do...

A little Theme Music from Davy Knowles. His Bass Player has the identical model of Music Man Bass I customized and played Back In The Day, so I'm a lil partial to this version...

good morning all! My weekend is over as my shift starts today.

On the good news front, my friend who was attacked by the dogs is doing much much better! The Dr's are now thinking that they will not have to amputate anything, her arm and leg will never be the same, but functional. She is sitting up for PT, was able to talk on the phone with family. All 100% more than they were predicting last week. Still lots of surgeries and skin grafts ahead, infection is still a huge concern but every day is a positive!
